This is an update to how my resolutions are coming along. I will warn you, they are just about like every other year...either forgotten or in limbo, but this year there's a little twist on them. All of my resolutions this year were about sewing and my boutique...and as far as these subjects go, I AM OBSESSED!!! Being obsessed has at least made me pay a little more attention to my resolutions, or at least think about them. So, with that being said, here are my updates:
1. Start a blog (better late than never).
UPDATE: Not forgotten...slow...long time between posts...hmmmmm...still not forgotten...need a reminder....lots to say and not a lot of time....hmmmmm....solution - set a reminder on my phone. Now, lets see how that works!
2. Stop procrastinating (urrrggggghhhhh....ongoing project).
UPDATE: Still ongoing...as I sit in front of my laptop still in my pjs at almost 3 in the afternoon (I think I know what my issue is here)! Solution...put the laptop away (will be really hard to do.
3. Become more organized (this one is semi-sorta going okay).
UPDATE: Still sort of going okay. It's hard to be organized when you don't have room to be organized. My fabric storage leaves a lot to be desired. My "supplies" are taking over my whole house. I continue to strive to at least TRY to stay organized.
4. Start participating in craft shows (beginning with Christmas in July...not sure where yet).
UPDATE: This is a fail...Christmas in July did NOT happen. I just can't wrap my head around doing these outside craft fairs in the 90+ degree heat and almost 100% humidity and dealing with the wind and the rain and going to all of that work only to be rained out or have poor attendance. I have found a different venue for craft shows and have signed up for the first-ever Conroe Market Days that will be taking place at the Lonestar Convention Center in November. It's a little pricey but it's indoors and I am sharing the expense with a friend who sells vintage jewelry. If this is successful, this venue will be happening every month beginning in January so we may continue doing it.
5. Build up my craft show inventory (in progress but that procrastinating thing keeps getting in the way).
UPDATE: Epic fail. Between procrastinating, overbooking myself with my boutique modeling bookings, and the onslaught of bookkeeping work, I have NOT made much progress here. I am, however, taking measures to correct this and we will see how that goes.
6. Sew more for my grandsons (this has actually been going fairly well).
UPDATE: Not going too well, but going. I have made a few things but need to do more. Daughter #1 doesn't like anything I make so I just haven't made anything. Daughter #2 is okay with most of my stuff...have made a few things and purchased lots of fabric for future things.
So there is my update. I will continue working on improving!
